How long does oral surgery take?
What should I expect after oral surgery?
If you are sedated with oral or intravenous sedation for your oral surgery, you remain in the office for about 20 minutes after the procedure until the sedation wears off. Most oral surgery is performed on an out-patient basis and does not require an overnight stay.
Most people receiving oral surgery return to their regular routine within a few hours to one day after the procedure. More complex oral surgeries may require a slightly longer recovery period. Dr. Knight provides detailed after-surgery guidelines for caring for the surgical area and when to schedule follow up appointments.
Dr. Knight determines whether you require oral surgery during a comprehensive dental exam. Use the convenient online booking system to schedule an appointment, or call Knight’s Dental to book an appointment for a dental exam today.
