Office Policies


Insurance Policies:

As a policy, all financial responsibilities on part of the patients at the office of Dr. Tasha Knight DDS PC, are made before services are rendered in advance and understood that all dental services are charged directly to the patient.

Dental insurance plans are contracts between you and your insurance company, so the office is not a party to the contract.

Insurances such as PPO, POS, or Indemnity Plans, the office will gladly provide you, the patient with an estimate of your insurance benefits, based on information given. The office will help process insurance claims on the patient’s behalf, then assist with collections from insurance companies and apply it to the patient’s account once received.

It is the patient’s personal responsibility to understand their dental benefits.

Each insurance plan is different in regards to receiving care and the payment for services rendered. So if there are any disagreements with the insurance companies assignment of your benefits, you the patient are responsible for appealing these decisions.

Appointment policies:

The appointment schedule is designed to reserve that special schedule time for you, and to help efficiently utilize my team and office facility. If you are running behind or late and is not able to arrive at the scheduled time, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. However, things tend to occur in our daily lives that are unavoidable from time to time but depending on the services that are to being rendered, you may be able to be worked back into the schedule.

If you have been waiting for more than 30 minutes and no one from the team has spoken to you concerning your appointment, please return to the front desk and ask for assistance.

A broken appointment or no-show is an inconvenience to the office. Therefore, if you need to change or cancel your appointment we would greatly appreciate at least a 48-hour cancellation notification, so that my team may reserve that appointment time for another patient. If you are unable to reach us during our normal business hours concerning your appointment please leave us a detailed message, because there is a 24 hour answering service.

There is a $45 cancellation fee for patients who do not cancel the appointment prior to the full 48 hours, so please call as soon as possible. If we are able to fill the appointment slot with another patient the cancellation fee will be waived.

Payment policy:

We do not accept personal checks, out-of-state or third-party personal checks:

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, American Express, and Cash. Payment for services rendered is due at the time of service, unless prior arrangements have been made.

A receipt is given to each patient at the end of each appointment. If one is not received, please do not hesitate to request for a printout.

If at the end of 30 days, if your insurance company has not paid your claim, it will be closed and the total amount for service rendered is billed to you. We charge 2% monthly on account balances over 30 days. If your account balance is not settled after 90 days your account is turned over to collections.

Patients are responsible for all costs/fees associated with collections on their account.

Discharge policy:

We reserve the right to immediately discharge a patient from our practice if the patient is abusive to the staff or refuse to follow our office policies.
